Important Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have all had a restful and enjoyable summer break and that your children are looking forward to the start of the new academic year. We are very much looking forward to welcoming students back to school and beginning another successful year together.

Unfortunately, I am writing to inform you of an unforeseen situation that is affecting our planned start to the new term.

Following the recent period of heavy rainfall, we have discovered a significant leak in the roof of our catering facilities. As a result, the kitchen is currently closed whilst essential repairs and safety checks are undertaken.

Since becoming aware of the issue, senior leaders and site staff have spent today exploring every possible option to enable students to return as planned. However, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to identify a solution that would allow us to safely accommodate additional year groups on site while these works are completed.

As you know, Year 7 students were already scheduled to attend on Thursday to support their transition into secondary school, with Years 8-11 due to return on Friday. Unfortunately, we can now only safely accommodate one year group on site on both Thursday and Friday. Therefore, Year 7 students will attend school as planned on Thursday and Friday, and students in Years 8-11 will have a delayed start to the new term and will return Monday 7th September 2026.

We appreciate that this information comes at short notice and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. The safety and wellbeing of our students and staff must remain our highest priority.

Year 7 Arrangements

As planned, Year 7 students will attend school on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday 3rd September

• Arrival: 8:40am

• Students should report directly to the Sports Hall

• As planned, students must bring a packed lunch

• End of school 2:15pm

Friday 4th September

• Arrival: 8:40am

• Students should go directly to their tutor group on arrival

• The school will provide a packed lunch consisting of (gluten-free and vegetarian options will be available):

  • Sandwich

  • Piece of fruit

  • Bottle of water

  • Cake

• End of school day: 3:15pm
