Sixth Form

6th Form at Leasowes

Leasowes 6th Form has been running since September 2017 and is part of the Invictus 6th Form, where students can study a wide variety of A Level and BTEC subjects at different campuses. We have a steady intake of students from year 11 and also from other local schools in the area. As the 6th form grows a range of other courses, both A Level and BTEC will be added.

We currently offer the following subjects at the Leasowes campus:

A Level Subjects

  • Biology
  • Drama
  • History
  • Chemistry
  • French
  • Psychology

Students in KS5 have private study sessions, where quiet working is expected in the private study room and ICT suite. There is also a weekly enrichment programme where students can learn new skills, take additional courses or attend work experience.

To complement their studies, KS5 students participate in ‘STEP’ – Student Enhancement Programme, taking on leadership roles and extra-curricular activities, in order to gain experience and produce evidence which can be used in CV’s and UCAS and apprenticeship applications.

PSHCE and careers guidance forms an important part of KS5, supporting students as they make key decisions about their futures. There is a programme of external visitors who deliver information on learning to drive, applying to further education, first aid and student finance.
